About

Since 2005, Phil Gallant has been creating, crafting and restoring woodwork using modern tools and techniques. In setting up Gallant Woodcraft in 2017, Phil took the next step to expand the creative horizon and return to the design process.

Background

• Educated at University of Plymouth and graduated with honours in BA 3D Design, using a range of materials and styles.

• Worked on a variety of large and complex woodwork projects in London, Colorado, Antwerp and New York, for an established traditional woodwork company focussed on wooden panelling and fitted furniture.

• Extensive experience extending existing panelling in older properties using modern tools and techniques.

• Gained invaluable experience learning from master craftsmen and honing skills of the craft.

Vision​

• Operating out of a studio workshop in Oxfordshire for small and experimental projects.

• Phil has a passion for recycling, using sustainable sources wherever possible.

• Working with a local social enterprise to protect the natural environment by recycling and re-using waste wood and by promoting the use of sustainably-produced timber.
